We’re Greg and Julie Alexander, better known as The Marriage Couple. We’re husband and wife, parents, grandparents, marriage educators, and two people who believe that every marriage deserves to be amazing.
But we haven’t always had the answers.
In fact, our passion for helping marriages began when our own marriage was falling apart.
Our Story: From Nearly Divorced to Helping Others
Like most couples, we entered marriage with dreams of a lifetime filled with love, happiness, and companionship. We believed that because we loved each other, everything else would somehow work itself out.
We quickly discovered that loving someone and knowing how to love someone are two very different things.
After ten years of marriage, we found ourselves on the brink of divorce.
We experienced the pain of broken trust, emotional disconnection, disappointment, and the feeling that the person we had promised to love forever had somehow become a stranger.
We knew what it felt like to be married and yet feel terribly alone.
But God had another plan.
Through His grace, the teachings of the Catholic Church, and our willingness to confront some difficult truths about ourselves, we began discovering what marriage was truly meant to be.
We learned that marriage wasn’t simply about finding the right person. It was about becoming the right person for the one we had chosen to love.
We discovered the importance of forgiveness, honest communication, emotional intimacy, personal responsibility, and learning to love one another as Christ loves us.
Our marriage didn’t change overnight. It required humility, patience, sacrifice, and a willingness to grow.
And that journey changed the direction of our lives.
From Our Marriage to Thousands of Others
In 1999, we founded The Alexander House Apostolate, a Catholic marriage ministry dedicated to strengthening marriages, restoring hope, and helping couples discover God’s beautiful plan for married love.
For more than 25 years, we’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of couples through marriage education, enrichment programs, mentoring, retreats, and personal accompaniment.
We’ve encountered couples who were deeply in love, couples who had grown apart, and couples who believed their marriages were beyond repair.
We’ve witnessed extraordinary transformations when husbands and wives discover new ways to understand, appreciate, forgive, and love one another.
Through our books, television programs, speaking engagements, marriage mentoring, and educational resources, we’ve dedicated our lives to sharing what we’ve learned.
And one lesson continues to stand above the rest:
A great marriage doesn’t happen by accident. It happens by intention.
Why We Created Amazing Marriage University
Over the years, we’ve noticed something interesting.
Most couples spend considerable time and money preparing for their wedding, but very little time intentionally investing in their marriage afterward.
We take classes to improve our careers. We attend workshops to develop professional skills. We invest in our physical health and personal interests.
Yet the most important human relationship in our lives often receives whatever time and energy we have left over.
We believe marriage deserves better.
That’s why we created Amazing Marriage University (AMU).
Our vision is to make practical, meaningful marriage education available to couples wherever they live and at whatever age and stage of marriage they find themselves.
Whether you’ve been married for six months or sixty years, there’s always something new to discover about yourself, your spouse, and the beautiful relationship you’re building together.

Our Catholic faith is the foundation of everything we teach. We draw upon Sacred Scripture, the wisdom of the Church, and the practical lessons we’ve learned through our own experiences and those of the couples we’ve accompanied.
At the same time, we recognize that the challenges of marriage are universal.
Every couple wants to feel loved, appreciated, respected, understood, and connected.
Every marriage encounters difficulties.
And every husband and wife has the capacity to become a better spouse.
We believe lasting marital happiness comes not from finding a perfect person, but from two imperfect people continually learning how to love one another more completely.
